The difference can be seen when examining a short putt, when it is easy to stroke the ball. Hitting is not an option for a short putt, which makes it the easiest shot in golf. No desire to hit the ball allows a stroking, swinging motion. Perfect this technique for short-distance shots and you will find increasing accuracy and distance with your long shots as well.

Don't try and hit the ball hard. Simply hitting the ball as hard as you can results in a tense and inefficient physical swing. You can end up achieving the opposite of what you wanted and land the ball way short. A relaxed swing and a relaxed attitude will achieve more accuracy and generally more distance.

Always club down from a driver if, in so doing, you avoid a downhill lie for your second shot. The downhill lie is the toughest of all lies to hit from. An uphill lie, though, isn't difficult at all, just so long as your club selection compensates for the slope. A flat lie is by far the best lie to hit from. So if by staying away from your driver you have the option of a flat or an uphill lie - don't think twice. Club down.

If you implement these tips and work on them, you will be certain to develop a better drive within a short period of time. Just keep on practicing and working on your improvement. It's only a matter of time before your scores begin to drop.

Practice anytime and anywhere with a good golf net today!

Some Quick Golf Information

Golf Carts

Properly Fitted Shoes. The importance of a solid pair of golf shoes that fit cant be overlooked.
Improve your distance with some new golf balls.

I cant tell you how many people come to my lesson tee and say, If I could just get rid of my baseball swing, then all my problems would be solved! My initial thought is always: I wish you had a baseball swing, because it would help you play better golf.
...golf news

The follow-through is the result of the prior body movements. After impact it's just a matter of releasing all tension and letting centrifugal force finish your swing. Centrifugal force will keep the clubface travel and clubface angle in the proper position. After the ball leaves the clubface there is nothing you can do that will affect the flight of the ball.
...World Golf

Headline News About Golf

Open drug testing plan is delayed

Tue, 29 Apr 2008 11:19:54 GMT
Drug testing at The Open will not start until 2009, the R&A announces.

by Rosie Jones

Watson, North combine to win Legends by a stroke

Mon, 28 Apr 2008 00:19:15 GMT
Tom Watson and Andy North got what they wanted, but had to work for it, edging Craig Stadler and Jeff Sluman by a stroke Sunday in the Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf.

Watson and North teamed for a better-ball 64 at The Club at Savannah Harbor for a 31-under 185 total. Setting up the ball too far forward or back in your stance will limit your power. If the ball is too far back in your stance, you will strike the ball potentially on your downswing. With a very small angle to begin with, it is virtually impossible to hit a good drive on your downswing with the ball too far back in your stance. The proper position is somewhere in between the width of your front foot.

During set up, start with your front foot in line with the ball, to give it more loft. In addition, shift your front hip slightly higher than your rear hip, and shift your front shoulder slightly lower than your rear shoulder. When you go for your backswing, you should shift your weight backward. This will give your swing more power.

Once you hit a shot you must stop and read what you just did and you must read it correctly. You must be in a balanced finish to read it properly, so you can check your alignment in case the shot is off line. As you stand in a perfectly balanced finish and watch your ball, ask yourself: how does my balance feel, how was the brush, how was the path, was the clubface in the correct position, and did I hit it in the center of the clubface? Then, either focus more on what is missing, or play it and go fix it after the round. You will only be able to accomplish 8 to 10 perfect shots per round, so be mentally prepared!

We hope these simple tips help you to drive the ball straighter and farther. And that will happen if you take them with you to the driving range and work on them diligently. Use them whenever you meet the specific situation on the faiway, the bunker or on the putting green and see your success happen.

Find a great golf training aid and improve your game!

Some Golf Ideas

Clone Golf Equipment

Take it easy! Many golfers hibernate for two or three months during the winter. Due to inactivity their muscles and tendons used in the golf swing lose much their tone and elasticity, so once you finally get to play make sure you stretch and loosen up before you tee off. Golfers with a history of back problems should be particularly cautious, otherwise they may ruin the new season before it even begins.
Get greater distance on your drives with great Top Flite golf balls from our store.

Find Your Swing Plane
You can swing on an upright or flat plane and be effective. However, if you want to be neutral, keep your left arm running up through your left shoulder at the top.
...Golf Tips magazine

To develop the best possible grip for you. Every golfer swings and grips the club differently. Over 90 percent of golfers use the Vardon or overlapping grip. Players with smaller hands sometimes find the interlocking grip, with the little finger of the right hand interlocked with the index finger of the left hand, works best for them. Players with smaller should use a baseball type grip.
...Golf Instruction Guide

Headline News About Golf

Two Edges Are Better Than One

Fri, 03 Jun 2005 00:00:00 GMT

Titleist Tour Report - THE PLAYERS Championship

Fri, 24 Mar 2006 00:00:00 GMT
Check out this week's Titleist Tour Report from THE PLAYERS Championship featuring players discussing two of the toughest finishing holes in golf - #17 and #18 at the TPC at Sawgrass.

Titleist Tour Report-Bay Hill Invitational

Fri, 17 Mar 2006 00:00:00 GMT
Watch this week's Titleist Tour Report direct from the Bay Hill Invitational featuring Jason Bohn.

indoor putting greens
beginners golf training aids
clone golf clubs
custom golf clubs

Golf Clubs Clone Information

Our Featured Golf Writer

This is the secret you've been searching for. The design of the whole
2. The weather
3. The state of your golf swing

"Design" refers to the breadth of the fairway, the length of the hole, and sometimes the direction of the hole. If the fairway is narrow, an iron should give you a better chance of hitting it [a fairway wood is not a bad choice either, in this instance]. If the is short, and you don't need maximum distance from the tee to give you a short iron to the green, go for the iron. In fact, unless you can drive the green, ideally you want to be between 75 and 100 yards back, as that will allow you a full wedge shot. Last, if the hole doglegs to the left or right at a point where a well hit drive would travel through the turn and into the rough beyond, then you should take just enough club to reach the turn - an iron, in other words. It's a good idea to use an iron in the windy weather simply because it's an easier club to control. Control is more important than distance in any weather, but especially in the windy stuff. If you're not making solid contact, or are spraying the ball with the driver, go with an iron. Once you regain your confidence, work back to the driver.

One option for better accuracy on tight holes is to choke down a few inches on the grip of the driver. The shorter, firmer swing will enhance accuracy without sacrificing too much distance [you'll still hit longer than you would with a fairway wood]. But the key here is to cut down on the wrist cock and make a three-quarter swing. In other words, you shouldn't really give yourself an opportunity to hit and off line drive

If you implement these tips and work on them, you will be certain to develop a better drive within a short period of time. Just keep on practicing and working on your improvement. It's only a matter of time before your scores begin to drop.

Get yourself a great new golf club today!

Quick Golf Ideas

Master the Art of Hitting from Uneven Lies
Though golf courses aren't flat, most golfers hone their fundamentals on the even, manicured surfaces of a driving range. In order to successfully take your skills to the course, however, you need to adapt to many different types of playing conditionsincluding hilly, sloping terrain.
...Golf Link

The putting stroke that is best depends upon the individual. So try them all deciding which is best for you. Shoulders controlling: With the wrists in a locked position and with the shoulders and arms working in unison control, the club throughout the stroke.
...World Golf

Customized Golf Bags

The Hands. The hands should completely reverse themselves from address to impact. Notice how the left wrist is flat while the right has moved from flat to bent back (Above right). This position is a must.
Improve your grip with great golf gloves before you hit the links again!

Titanium Fairway Woods

A golf tip for a golfer that plans to regrip his clubs: Be cautious. This is because the grips are the only contact points one can access to affect the shot. Before carrying out the regripping, know the core grip of the club and your hands grip size. To determine your core size grip, measure the diameter of the butt of the shaft you're going to re-grip. The shaft's diameter should match the grip's core diameter. In determining your hands grip, the available size grips are regular, mid-size, oversize and jumbo. Use only the best re-gripping materials that will provide optimum performance for your golf clubs.
Improve your golf game with a new fairway woods head today!

Assuming that you have a driver with enough loft, here are four things that you can do to increase launch and decrease spin rate, thus increasing your distance off the tee:
...Golf Help

Today's Golf News

Learn How to Get a Complete Workout in 10-15 Minutes on ''Golf Fitness Academy presented by Titleist''

Fri, 26 May 2006 00:00:00 GMT
Airs Monday, May 29 at 8:40 p.m. on The Golf Channel

Get In the Proper Set-Up Position

Wed, 16 Mar 2005 00:00:00 GMT

ping golf

Golf Gift Information

Featured Golf Article

You will find a lot of easy tips and techniques in this eBook to quickly transform your golf game and add 20 yards to your drive!

Wondering which golf clubs you should buy?

By: Lee MacRae

With such a large variety of golf clubs on the market today, it is no wonder that many newcomers to the game have a hard time when it comes to choosing new clubs.

Follow along as we discuss each type and what may be best for you.

First, take note of your height. Standard golf clubs are designed for individuals bewteen five and six feet. And it doesn't matter if you are male or female, the general rule applies. There are enough standard clubs on the market that you should be able to find ones to suit the rest of your needs in a golf club.

If you are outside the heights for standard clubs, then you may want to look at getting custom clubs made just for you.

Cast or Forged Golf Club?

Cast iron is the normal route to take when buying new clubs.

Why do we say that? Because of the larger "sweet spot" you tend to find on the cast iron clubs. This is the are in the center of the club face where "forces" are said to be perfectly balanced to deliver the perfect shot. The larger "sweet spot" you have, the less likely it is that you will hit a bad shot You can still be a little "off center" and the ball is still struck well because you have a larger margin of error. It is for that main reason the beginners are steered towards cast iron clubs. Their swing is not as consistant as a seasoned golfer or a pro and so they have an easier time driving the ball well with a larger sweet spot at their disposal. That is why you see a lot of oversized club heads on the market today. They allow average duffers the opportunity of striking the ball well and getting great drives more often.

By contrast, forged iron golf clubs are "harder to hit" a good shot with as they have a smaller sweet spot.

Why, you ask, are forged iron clubs even made then?

For a very simple reason. Cast iron is a softer metal that offers a better "feel" on a shot. The better players, on the other hand, will give up that larger sweet spot [and even some distance] to get that better feel of each and every shot they take. With a more consistant swing, they usually strike the ball dead center on most shots anyway. With the better feel of the forged iron club, they can draw, fade, hook or slice the ball deliberately when circumstances on the golf course require it.

The shaft of the club is the next item to look at. What will it be made of? A composite or steel?

The significant factor here is club speed. A typical golfer will have a club head velocity between 80-94 mph. A slower swing speed usually signifies you had better think of using a shaft made from composite material . Slower swing speeds mean less distance on your shots. Not a good thing. And that is where the composite golf club shaft enters the picture. It gives you a lot more distance than you would get with your normal swing and a steel shaft.

On the other hand, if you already have good distance on your shots due to good swing speed, you can add some touch and feel to your game very similar to that obtained by using the forged iron clubs. You get the best of both worlds.

Determining your own swing speed is not difficult. If you don't have a local pro shop with the right equipment, you can find small microwave Doppler radar devices that are run by AAA batterieson the market. You simply set it near your tee and swing away.

With just a few small tips like this, you should be able to determine which clubs will work for you and why. Knowing why is just a important because you will be able to adjust your equipment as you improve on your game over time. If you find your swing speed improving, you may find you will be able to switch to clubs that will give you the feel and shot selection of the better players.

These simple golf driving tips have proved effective in helping many golfers around the world improve their drives off the tee. Simply apply what you have read here to your own circumstances. Here's to your own improvement!

Lower your scores with a good golf putting aid today!

Golf Snippets

To keep other body movements from moving the swing center keep your weight to the inside of your feet. Never allow this weight to transfer outside as this will pull you out of position. Allow the rotation of the shoulders and arms to carry the club to the top of the backswing. These are some key points that will give you feedback in understanding how to feel the proper swing center.
...PGA

To start with a proven ball position. Moving a golf ball even two inches forward or back in your stance can make a great deal of difference in shot consistency. Start with the ball a couple of inches inside the left heel. After you master this consistent ball position, you can experiment with other ball positions. However, a ball too far to the front of your stance will increase the chances of a slice by encouraging an outside-to-inside swing. A ball too far back in the stance will make it difficult to get the clubface closed by impact and may cause a push or a push slice
...PGA of America

The off-season is also a good time to renew your equipment, in particular your clubs. If you start practicing with your new clubs during winter you have more time to get used to them, rather than having to struggle in spring when the 'serious' golf season starts again. Another reason to stock up during winter is that prices are usually at their lowest, with many merchants offering off-season and (post-)holiday specials.
...PGA Tour

To develop the best possible grip for you. Every golfer swings and grips the club differently. Over 90 percent of golfers use the Vardon or overlapping grip. Players with smaller hands sometimes find the interlocking grip, with the little finger of the right hand interlocked with the index finger of the left hand, works best for them. Players with smaller should use a baseball type grip.
...PGA of America

Today's Golf News

Titleist Players Winning the World Over

Mon, 20 Feb 2006 00:00:00 GMT

Breakthrough Performance For Axley at Valero Texas Open

Mon, 25 Sep 2006 00:00:00 GMT
Rookie Trusts Titleist from Tee-to-Green in Maiden PGA Tour Victory

Golf Club Updates

Our Featured Golf Article

Instantly slash your golf score by creating perfect impact!

Which Golf Clubs Are Best For You?

By: Lee MacRae

Are you looking to buy new golf clubs? Finding it difficult to determine what will work the best for you? Newcomers especially can become bewildered by the large variety of golf clubs you see when you are looking to buy.

Follow along as we discuss each type and what may be best for you.

First, take note of your height. Standard golf clubs are designed for individuals bewteen five and six feet. And that holds equally for males and females. By looking for standard clubs uing the hints given here, you should find something that will work well for you.

Anyone taller or shorter should take a look at custom clubs to get the proper fit.

Cast or Forged Golf Club?

For most folks, the standard cast iron golf clubs are the best way to go.

Why do we say that? Very simply because standard cast iron clubs tend to have a larger "sweet spot". That refers to the area right smack dab in the middel of the club face where you are supposed to hit the ball. The bigger the sweet spot, the better chance of hitting well it every time. It makes it a little easier to hit the "bulls eye" every time on your shots. It is for that main reason the beginners are steered towards cast iron clubs. Without a steady consistant swing, a larger striking area will produce better shots overall. That is why clubs like "Big Bertha" came on the market. The large oversized head obviously gives a much larger sweet spot than a normal driver. Average golfers get longer and straighter drives on a more consistant basis.

By contrast, forged iron golf clubs are "harder to hit" a good shot with as they have a smaller sweet spot.

Which begs the question. Why make forged iron clubs?

Well, because they are made of a softer steel, they offer a better "feel" on each and every shot. The better player, with a more refined and "repeatable" swing, can use this "feel" to shape or control his shot in a way that the beginner can't. The better player doesn't need that larger sweet spot because he can strike the ball dead center with far more consistancy. He trades that off for more control.

The next consideration is the material for the shaft. Steel or composite?

Visit your local golf pro shop or look for a store that offers custom work and they will help you to determine your own club head speed and which type of shaft you should use. Or you can buy one of the many swing speed radar devices on the market and clock your speed yourself.

With only these few starting tips, it is typically best if you rent a few different sets of clubs as you play and take note of how each club serves or handicaps your game. You are looking to ascertain your own strengths as well as weaknesses. Check out the assorted types and varieties of golf clubs you may find in a rental shop, for example, and discover what works best for you.

If you implement these tips and work on them, you will be certain to develop a better drive within a short period of time. Just keep on practicing and working on your improvement. It's only a matter of time before your scores begin to drop.

Find a training aid to learn the correct golf grip today!

Some Quick Golf Information

I have a drill that may work for you when practicing your putting stroke called the Tap stroke. To learn this stroke pretend there is a tack stuck in the back of the ball and when you make your stroke have the putter head drive the tack further into the ball. This will encourage you to hit the ball with more authority which with this shorter stroke there will be less chance of the putter blade getting out of what is called square position. So start getting "Tacky" on the greens!
...World Golf

Torque It Up!
A good backswing creates torque and is achieved by rotating the body away from the ground using the feet as an anchor. Except for unusually flexible players, the knees, hips, core, back and shoulders should all be used to create torque. Once you get the feel of creating leverage against the ground, your power will increase significantly.
...Golf Tips magazine

Playing The Game
Mechanical thoughts, especially during the backswing, have no place on the golf course. Get it today!

Golf Balls -- The Science Behind The Dimples

by Susan Chiang

The dynamics behind the flight of the golf ball offers a fascinating insight into the physical interworkings of air pressure, turbulence, and aerodynamics.

When golf was first played in Scotland, most players played using clumsy golf apparatus, with the first golf clubs and golf balls made of wood.

In 1618 the 'Featherie' was introduced. It was a golf ball made of feather. This feather golf ball was handcrafted from goose feathers tightly pressed into a horse or cowhide sphere while still wet. After drying, the leather shrank and the feathers expanded, creating a hardened golf ball.

As this type of golf ball was specially handcrafted, it was usually more expensive than golf clubs, so that only a few privileged people could afford to play golf back then.

After the Featherie golf ball came the Guttie golf ball. This type of golf ball was made from the rubber-like sap of the Gutta tree found in the tropics, and was shaped into a sphere when hot and eventually into a golf ball. As it was made of rubber, the Guttie golf ball could be cheaply produced and easily repaired by reheating and reshaping.

Comparing the two types of golf balls, the Featherie golf ball was said to travel farther than the Guttie golf ball because the Guttie golf balls smooth surface prevented it from covering more distance.

With this discovery, the developers of golf balls came up with the 'dimpled' golf balls that are so predominant in modern golf nowadays.

The dimples on the golf balls help reduce the aerodynamic drag. Aerodynamic drag normally affects smooth golf balls and slows them down, because when they sail through the air, they leave a pocket of low-pressure air in its stir thus creating a drag.

By applying dimples to the golf ball surface, the pressure differential goes down and the drag force is reduced. These dimples create turbulence in the air surrounding the golf ball, which, in turn, forces the air to clasp the golf ball more closely. By doing so, the air trails the warp created by the golf ball towards the back instead of flowing past it. This results in a smaller wake and lesser drag.

Dimples were first added onto golf ball surfaces back during the gutta percha phase. Coburn Haskell introduced the one-piece rubber cored golf ball encased in a gutta percha sphere. Then in 1905 William Taylor applied the dimple pattern to a Haskell golf ball, thus giving rise to the modern golf ball as we know it today.

After its beginning, dimpled golf balls were officially used in every golf tournament. In 1921, the golf ball took its current form with standard size and weight. Nowadays there is a wide range of golf balls to fit every style, game and condition, with some golf balls offering control, and other golf balls offering distance.

Though a common sight nowadays, the dimpled golf ball is not just a mere element of the sports arena; it is a showcase of physics at work.

For a more comprehensive look at golf and golf equipment, drop by Susans site Golf Ball City. What I mean is the training aids like Medicus, Kallasssys Swing Magic, and many others. These golf swing aids can be very effective if you take the right approach from the beginning.

What is your swing fault?

The first thing you need to do is diagnose your specific swing fault. Every golfer has a swing fault that creeps into his or her game on a daily basis. Dont you? Even if you have a good round going, doesnt your dreaded swing fault show up sooner than later? I know this is what happens to me.

Once you recognize your consistent golf swing fault, you need to look at the mechanics or physical issues that are causing it. This will help you narrow down you decision for a golf swing trainer that will help you achieve your goals.

Dont buy it because its popular!

It is so easy to fall into the trap of infomercials. They are done so well, before you know ityou are getting your credit card out and placing your order. Dont do it! Pay attention to the exact issue each and every swing trainer addresses. The problem is most of them say they solve ALL the swing faults, which is not possible.

Your body is doing something incorrect, and it is causing your swing fault. Not every trainer out there can correct this physical issue. Therefore, you should not fall for the marketing pitch these companies are doing to you. Stay focused and pick your weapon wisely.

See if you can demo one from your local golf store.

One thing golfers never do is try to use it for free. Thats right! Go in there and tell them you are interested in golf swing trainers and do they have the particular one you want to use as a demo. If they have one that has been returned, they will do it. I have done it and it works. You cant be shy! Go in and give it a try!

Use it consistently!

Now youve made your decision, spent the money and have it in your possession. What normally happens is you use it once or twice and put it in your golf garage never to use it again right? I can say this because I have done it. If you want to be successful with your new golf swing trainer, youve go to use it regularly! I know this sounds stupid, but I know 80% of golfers dont do this.

To be successful in anything, you need to be persistent and consistent with your new program. Set out to use it daily at a certain time of the day and schedule it in. I am dead serious! Put it in your appointment book and do it! This will insure you have a constant reminder to use it. Take this approach and the sky is the limit!

Article Source: http://www.bettergolfarticles.com

About The Author: Mike Pedersen is one of the top golf performance experts in the country. In reality, however, maximum power is a result of a left-hand lead.
...The Golf Channel

The simple way to learn the proper feel of your swing center is to place a golf ball on the ground and, with sun to your back, take your stance in a position whereby the shadow of your head covers the ball. As you swing, keep your eyes on the shadow. During the swing the shadow will move slightly, however if it moves off the ball you have lost the correct swing center. If the shadow remains on the ball you have kept the swing in the correct position. Repeat this excellent drill daily so as to reinforce good habits that will yield the reults you seek.
...PGA

Headline News About Golf

Titleist Players Winning the World Over

Mon, 20 Feb 2006 00:00:00 GMT

Just Getting Started

Mon, 08 Jan 2007 00:00:00 GMT
Singh, Scott Finish 1-2 Trusting Titleist Pro V1x Prototype at Kapalua

golf training aids
golf putting aids
golf
discount golf equipment

Clone Golf Clubs Information

Our Featured Golf Article

You will find a lot of easy tips and techniques in this eBook to quickly transform your golf game and add 20 yards to your drive!

Some Golf Tips

by Lee MacRae

The following tips have been gleaned from various sources over the years. We hope you enjoy them.

Years ago driver club heads, and clubfaces, were much smaller, resulting in a much smaller sweet-spot. The driver heads simply were not large enough to warrant a higher tee height. General rule of thumb says to tee the ball up so that the top half of the ball is above the clubface when the club is resting in starting position on the ground. Naturally with a bigger club head, you need to tee the ball higher to achieve the top half ratio. This will ensure you are still striking the ball with the center of the club head.

Many golfers lift their front foot on their backswing. This can lead to a reverse weight shift, where weight is actually shifted to the front side on the backswing. This can result in a hook or shank shot. Keep your front foot planted on the ground on your backswing, which will promote a proper hip and shoulder turn and get you into a "coil" position setting you up for increased power. Just don't forget to shift your weight to your back side.

You'll generate a lot of power if you forget about building up the muscles in your body and concentrate instead on whipping the hips. Look at golfing legend Gary player. He's only 5'7" tall, but he hits the ball a long way by moving his hips as fast as possible for right to left in the downswing. But not so fast that he loses control of the swing. The idea is to have the hips moving to the left, where they'll open naturally. If you keep your head behind the ball through impact, you'll form a sort of human catapult that will send your ball soaring.

Work on these tips and make sure you tee off with a positive mindset. The more you practice and implement what you learn, the more confidence you will gain in your ability to hit it straight and long. And watch your scores begin to plummet!

Get a great golf driver online!

Some Golf Ideas

You've heard that a golf-specific workout will help you get more distance, so you're pumping iron, jogging religiously, stretching - but you still haven't gained any distance off the tee. What's the deal? An exercise program will indeed help you gain distance, but you also need to have good swing technique to take advantage of your strength and flexibility.
...golf news

The follow-through is the result of the prior body movements. After impact it's just a matter of releasing all tension and letting centrifugal force finish your swing. Centrifugal force will keep the clubface travel and clubface angle in the proper position. After the ball leaves the clubface there is nothing you can do that will affect the flight of the ball.
...World Golf

Putting Tip
Wanna be a good putter? Here are some basic fundamentals you should be practicing.
--Get a putter with a very distinct line marked on it to indicate the target line and practice with a chalk line. You can get a chalk line at any hardware store for 5 or 6 bucks, and it's as valuable a training aid as there is anywhere. Find a putt on the practice green that is straight. Snap a chalk line down from about 5 or 6 feet to the middle of the cup. Make sure that the entire length of the line on your putter is exactly on the chalk line. Start making putts. This will train your eyes to "see square" precisely.
--Keep your the pressure in your hands soft and constant throughout the stroke. Sensitivity is obviously a huge part of putting. If your hands are tight on the grip you are diminishing your sensitivity - period. Also, if your grip pressure changes during the stroke, it's probably not "a stroke" but more likely a jab, flinch, spasm, push, hit ... well, you get the point -- good luck with that kind of technique.
--There is no independent action in the hands. Nothing could be more logical: If you do indeed have the putter face aligned precisely, as in the first point above, the last thing you'd want to do is to change the position of the face. Therefore, your hands should not be moving independently of your arms and shoulders. To see if your hands are moving, as a drill try watching your hands very carefully (instead of the ball) a few times. You'll see what your hands are doing quite easily.
There are many more (seemingly endless) details about putting, of course, but if you turn these fundamental concepts into habits it will take you a long way toward being a consistently good putter
...PGA professional golf

Today's Golf News

Direct from the Tour: The Presidents Cup - Final Day

Sun, 25 Sep 2005 00:00:00 GMT
Direct from the Tour: The Presidents Cup - Final Day. Finding it difficult to determine what will work the best for you? Newcomers especially can become bewildered by the large variety of golf clubs you see when you are looking to buy.

Follow along as we discuss each type and what may be best for you.

To begin with, it can be stated that "off the shelf" golf clubs will work for nearly everybody standing between 5 feet and six feet tall. That goes every bit for both men and women. By looking for standard clubs uing the hints given here, you should find something that will work well for you.

Anyone taller or shorter should take a look at custom clubs to get the proper fit.

Cast Iron or Forged Iron Golf Club?

For virtually all golfers, the stock cast iron golf clubs will be the soundest way to go.

What makes cast iron the right choice for most? Because most standard cast iron golf clubs have a larger "sweet spot". That refers to the area right in the middle of the club face. The larger the "sweet spot" on a club face, the more area you have to strike the ball well. It makes it a little easier to hit the "bulls eye" every time on your shots. You can see why beginners are usually told to stay with cast iron clubs Until their swing plane is more developed, they will have an easier time striking the ball on a consistant basis with the cast iron club. That is why clubs like "Big Bertha" came on the market. The large oversized head obviously gives a much larger sweet spot than a normal driver. Average golfers get longer and straighter drives on a more consistant basis.

With forged iron clubs you have the exact opposite. A smaller sweet spot that makes your drives that much harder to hit well.

So why would people buy a forged iron golf club?

Because the "softer" forged metal gives the golfer a better feel than the harder cast iron does. The more experienced golfers can use this feel to great advantage, shaping their shots, even curving them intentionally when the circumstances require it. So, in effect, they trade off the larger sweet spot for the shot shaping feel of a forged iron club.

Next question, will you use steel or a composite material for the shaft of your new club?

The major criteria here is club speed. An average golfer will have a club head speed of 80-94 mph. Lower speeds usually means you should look at a composite shaft. The result of lower swing speed is less yardage on each shot. You want to find some way to offset your lower swing speed. And that is where the composite shaft material comes in. The composite shaft will give you longer drives than you will normally get with your low swing speed and steel shafted golf clubs.

For those of you with faster swing speeds, and subsequenlty good distances, steel shafted clubs will give you a lot more control on your shots. This is very similar to the advantages of iron over cast clubs.

In order to determine your personal swing speed, look for a sports shop or golf store that has speed sensor equipment and get yourself clocked.

With just these few starting hints, it is generally best if you rent a few different sets of clubs as you play and take note of how each club assists or hinders your game. You are searching to determine your personal strong points and weak points. Try out the diverse types and sorts of clubs available to you and see what works best for your own game.

If you implement these tips and work on them, you will be certain to develop a better drive within a short period of time. Just keep on practicing and working on your improvement. It's only a matter of time before your scores begin to drop.

Save money and improve your game with a great clone golf club today!

Let's Talk About Golf

Two Backswing Flaws You Must Fix for a Spot-On Swing
Because golfers must stand to the side of the golf ball at address, it's easy to understand why many players improperly rotate both the body and golf club away from the ball during the takeaway. Often, this improper rotation assumes the form of an inside takeaway, where the hands and forearms roll clockwise and rotate the clubface open. As soon as the club is taken too far to the inside, it becomes trapped behind the bodyliterally.
...Golf Link

Neutral = Straight
There are two key alignments to strive for at the top of the swing that will make hitting fairways much easier. The most important of the two is the clubface position, which should be square (the leading edge basically is parallel to the left arm). Learning this position will remove the need to compensate on the downswing with the hands. Positioning the club parallel to the target line is also extremely important.
...Golf Tips magazine

top 50 tips9. Through The Navel
An extension of the shaft at address should point at your navel. This ensures that the body is bent over the proper amount and is far enough from the ball.
...Golf Tips magazine

The key to hitting the ball farther with the modern driver and golf ball (which spins much less off of a flat face than balls of the past) is high launch combined with a low spin rate. Our goal is to get enough spin to achieve lift, while minimizing (hopefully eliminating) drag.
...The Golf Channel

Don't grip the club too tightly. A tight grip inhibits a smooth swing and follow-though. Also, keep the grips on your clubs in good condition. Worn grips force you to hold the club too tightly. Replace the grips on your clubs as they get worn and smooth. When first learning the grip, keep a club around the house and practice gripping and regripping the club a few minutes each day. Remember to keep fingers secure and arms relaxed.
...PGA of America

Golf Related News

Louise Friberg Earns First LPGA Tour Win With Titleist

Mon, 17 Mar 2008 00:00:00 GMT
Denis Watson Tops Loren Roberts in Pro V1 Playoff

Titleist Tour Report: U.S. Open

Fri, 16 Jun 2006 00:00:00 GMT
Check out this week's Titleist Tour Report from the 2006 U.S. Open, featuring Titleist ambassador Davis Love III, who returns this week to Winged Foot, site of his emotional victory at the 1997 PGA Championship.

TITLEIST INTRODUCES ADVANCED PERFORMANCE FOUR MODEL IRON FAMILY

Thu, 24 Jan 2008 00:00:00 GMT
Focus on Feel and Performance with New Titleist AP1, AP2, ZB Forged and ZM Forged Irons

TITLEIST INTRODUCES TOUR-PROVEN PRO TITANIUM 905R 460cc DRIVER

Fri, 03 Mar 2006 00:00:00 GMT
Largest Titleist Driver Has Already Won Acceptance, Tournaments Across Worldwide Tours

On Top of the Leaderboard, All Over the World

Mon, 22 Oct 2007 00:00:00 GMT
Weir Leads Titleist to Three-Win Week Across Worldwide Professional Tours

indoor putting greens
golf putter
golf clubs clone
golf | golf clubs

Beginners Golf training Aid Information

Featured Golf Article

This is the secret you've been searching for. Here are a few tips that you can use to make your golf game better.

In general, a sand shot should be hit with a sand wedge, with both the stance and the clubface opened wide. The idea is to hit the sand and let it carry the ball out of the bunker. You should aim to make contact with the sand about two inches behind the ball and hit under and through. An important point here; with few exceptions, you should make a full fall through.

When your ball is sitting up in sand on a rise that is caused by someone's footprints, don't be fooled into thinking this is an easy shot. Players tend to try to get the ball off the surface of the sand, or take too much sand in an effort not to hit it too far. Do the former and you may blade the ball. Do the latter and you may hit it fat. This is an instance where you want to hit not under the ball, but down and through it. Take your spot, about two inches behind the ball and slightly below it [because of the rise] and swing as you would for a normal chip shot. If you're still worried about getting it too far, move your weight back to your right foot. This will force you to swing more with your arms and will take some power out of the shot.

There are occasions when it's a good idea to putt out of a bunker, or use the "Texas wedge". The bunker should have firm sand and little or no lip, and there should be a smooth surface between the ball and the edge of the bunker. Address the ball as you would a putt, with the ball in the center of your stance. Swing with the arms and shoulders, but keep the wrists firm and the rest of your body, especially your head, absolutely still. The key is to make solid contact. Be careful not to ground the putter. If you do, you will be penalized.

Knowing the basic techniques of bunker sand play and understanding the subtleties of the various problems you can encounter will actually lead you to even enjoy the play from a sand bunker. I'm sure these tips will help you to enjoy your next round of golf.

Improve your swing with a great golf swing trainer today!

More Thoughts On Golf

Turning hands counterclockwise on the shaft (weak grip), promotes a left-to-right flight of the ball (slice). Turning hands clockwise (strong grip) promotes a right-to-left flight of the ball (hook).
...Golf Instruction Guide

You cant fire a gun unless you pull the trigger, right? A similar concept also applies to the golf swing, which also usually requires a trigger move to get the body moving. Now, not everyone has a trigger, some manage to swing well from a static position to a dynamic position. But for the rest of us who often find confusion when it comes to where to start the golf swing, a trigger move can help you start swinging in a fluid and consistent manner.
...golf news

Some things to know and practice: First, and most important search and ask around about a respected golf instructor in your area, and get them to give you information on their program prior to starting an instructional series. You don't want someone giving you advice who is not qualified, and can impart poor information that can create bad habits.
...PGA professional golf

Short Game Tip
The chip and run should be the workhorse of your short game. It is the most reliable shot around the green when you can't putt. I would estimate that at least 95% of my short game shots (from within 20 yards of the edge of the green) are played with a chip and run technique, and the other 5% is made up of putts from off the green, pitches, and bunker shots. Getting the ball on the ground and rolling as soon as possible greatly increases the chances of the ball's behavior being predictable. That is not to say that a chip and run is always very low to the ground; just as low as possible. A chip and run style shot can be played with the most lofted wedge in your bag, in which case some people might refer to the shot as a "pitch and run." In many cases where the average golfer tries to pitch the ball up in the air, the "risk vs. reward" and the uncontrollable nature of a pitch (especially from a marginal lie) make it a poor choice.
Short Game General Rules
--Putt whenever feasible (i.e., IF the ball will roll rather than bounce)
--Chip and run when you can't putt
--Pitch only when you have no choice
...PGA professional golf

To start with a proven ball position. Moving a golf ball even two inches forward or back in your stance can make a great deal of difference in shot consistency. Start with the ball a couple of inches inside the left heel. After you master this consistent ball position, you can experiment with other ball positions. However, a ball too far to the front of your stance will increase the chances of a slice by encouraging an outside-to-inside swing. A ball too far back in the stance will make it difficult to get the clubface closed by impact and may cause a push or a push slice.
...Golf Help

Today's Golf News

Adam Scott Trusts New Titleist Advanced Performance Irons in Record-Setting Victory

Mon, 28 Jan 2008 00:00:00 GMT
Captures Qatar Masters with Pro V1 Golf Ball and Full Bag of Titleist Golf Clubs

Irwin, Han Win with Titleist on Champions, LPGA Tours

Wed, 05 Oct 2005 00:00:00 GMT
Three more wins this week advances Titleist's worldwide golf ball victory count to 134, over 100 more than the nearest competitor with 29.

Titleist Announces Free Personalization Golf Ball Promotion

Mon, 10 Apr 2006 00:00:00 GMT

New Episode of Golf Fitness Academy Presented by Titleist Focuses on Balance

Mon, 15 Aug 2005 00:00:00 GMT

Louise Friberg Earns First LPGA Tour Win With Titleist

Mon, 17 Mar 2008 00:00:00 GMT
Denis Watson Tops Loren Roberts in Pro V1 Playoff

golf swing
golf

Why I Like Hybrid Golf Club

Featured Golf Article

The Golf Beginner Guide is an eBook filled with info for the beginning golfer. Taylor

Playing golf without the right golf equipment is like swimming without water, it just does not make sense. However, as we all know purchasing golf equipment is not a cheap venture. You have to weed your way through all of the gadgets and gimmicks that people are selling with the promise of improving your golf game. If you are the type who enjoy simply playing the game of golf on your free weekends, you need nothing more than the bare golf equipment essentials. All you really need are golf balls, golf clubs, and of course a golf bag to tow your clubs.

If you take a look at the golf equipment rules as defined by the United States Golf Association your golf bag should have fourteen or less clubs. You really need to focus on your putter, wedges, irons, woods, and driver. You can feel free to mix up your clubs provided you keep the golf bag carrying only the maximum of fourteen clubs. Of course, in getting yourself the proper set up, you should expect to pay up to $1,000 for a complete golf club set.

You simply cannot do without a golf bag. Think about having to tow around your golf balls and your clubs on the golf course, you simply would not make it. Golf bags are made from a variety of materials such as nylon or leather. When choosing a bag consider how you get around while playing your game. Do you ride in a golf cart or do you walk the course? If you are someone who rides a golf cart, you will likely want to have a large enough golf bag to contain not only your clubs, but towels, balls, tees, and other accessories.

Now if you are the type that walks the course, you will definitely want to invest in a lighter golf bag that comes with a shoulder strap for a more comfortable journey. When talking about essential golf equipment, you cannot forget your golf balls. Generally, you can purchase balls in sleeves or boxes of three. You can even find packages that contain 15 to 18 balls. You have your choice in types of golf balls as well, two-piece and balata. A two-piece golf ball has a surlyn cover, a core that is hard and very large. However, these are generally more popular because the surlyn cover protects the ball from cuts and nicks. The outer layer of a balata ball is softer but has the same hard core inside.

There are many golf accessories you could consider when shopping for golf equipment such as golf shoes, golf glove, an umbrella, a club brush, ball markers, and golf tees. The decision is yours in regards to which type of golf clubs, golf balls, golf bags, and accessories you get. You have to decide based on your budget, what type of golf equipment you need, as well as how it helps your golf game.

Get your free golf report, golf equipment essentials and free weekly tips that explains a step-by-step procedure for improving your golf game. It's a fact that a ball will roll away from mountains and towards the ocean; so if there is a hill near the green the ball will roll away from it. If there is a lake near the green the ball will roll toward it.
...US Golf Association

Iron Game Tip
A very important factor in striking the ball solidly and consistently with your irons is getting the "bottom" of your swing in front of the ball (i.e., the lowest spot in the swing's arc on the target side of the ball). Divot diagram This promotes contacting the ball before the ground (this is a good idea). You can develop a feel for this by scratching a line on the ground with a tee, or making a row of tees spaced about 6 inches apart, perpendicular to your target line. Straddle the line and take divots until you consistently make the divots in front of (toward the target from) the line, or row of tees. You can certainly hit balls this way too -- with the balls on the line or between each of the tees. Once you can do this you'll hit your iron shots much more solidly and with more control.
...PGA professional golf

top 50 tips13. Get Behind
There's no leverage in the golf swing if you're ahead of the ball. Good players move away from the target slightly in the backswing and don't pass the ball until after impact.
...Golf Tips magazine

Golf Related News

Faxon Fires Personal Best to Earn Buick Championship Crown

Tue, 30 Aug 2005 00:00:00 GMT

Titleist Tour Report: Barclays Classic

Fri, 09 Jun 2006 00:00:00 GMT
Check out this week's Titleist Tour Report from the Barclays Classic, featuring Titleist golf ball player Retief Goosen.

Four Tours. We hope you enjoy them.

You're driving will improve if, before you swing, you draw a mental picture of:

1. Your position at the top of your swing

2. The clubhead swinging through the impact area

3. Where you want your club to finish up [the best way to do this is to pick out a target on the horizon and swing your club toward it]

These images represent the three keys to any good swing: the backswing, the impact, and the follow-through.

Club down.

These simple golf driving tips have proved effective in helping many golfers around the world improve their drives off the tee. Simply apply what you have read here to your own circumstances. Here's to your own improvement!

Get the perfect golf grip and improve your golf game!

Quick Golf Ideas

The clubhead should be descending at impact with the exception of the Driver and the Putter. What is meant by descending angle of approach?
...Learn About Golf

Tee the Ball Higher. The old adage has always been that the top of the driver should be about halfway up the ball when it is teed up. However, with a 460cc driver, I like to see you set the ball high enough on a peg such that the top of the driver is no more than one-third of the way up the ball. Of course, this means that the standard 2 1/8-inch tee will not be long enough to accommodate. You will need a tee at least 3 inches in length, but likely a little longer than this.
...Golf Help

Proper Sequence Is Key
There are many elements of impact that must come together to produce consistency, but the key lies in the sequence. From the top of the backswing, the legs and hips must initiate the downswing by moving toward the target, past their original position at address. This creates the proper tilt in the shoulders that allows the right arm to remain flexed at impact, while the left wrist becomes flat. This is the exact reason why the Ping golf club was born.

Karsten Solheim was the one who invented the ping golf club with different intentions. The story has it that Karsten was practicing golf but he could not hit the ball so he started to practice up to the time that he began to design and experiment his very own putter so that he could play better through it. He thought of designing his own putter without a figment of a though that it would be known worldwide. By the year 1959, his putter experiments had evolved into 1A design. While deciding for the name, he heard the sound of his putter and declared proudly to his wife that he would name the putter from its sound, hence the name ping. At that same year, Sports Illustrated published an article in their August issue regarding the ping golf club dubbing it as a musical putter.

This was the beginning of success for the ping golf club. At present, the Ping golf club is manufactured in Phoenix, Arizona by Karsten Manufacturing Corporation. There are more than 400 patents registered for the ping golf club and each of these designs are all innovative and very original designs that are suited for each and every golfer. Here are some of their key patents and products:

In the year 1962, the Heel-toe weighting type of ping golf club was granted patent. This design was the one that revolutionalized other modern designs and golf clubs that are manufactured in the market today. In the year 1969, another type of ping golf club was introduced which was the perimeter-weighted, investment-cast iron. The reason for this type of ping golf club is that the perimeter weighting is able to increase the moment of inertia thus when a ball is not struck squarely on the face it makes the club more forgiving. Another innovative movement for the ping golf club was the application of investment casting in the manufacture of the K Series Irons. This is not really a new technology in fact; the old name for it is the lost-wax process. The purpose of this type of method is to ensure precise detail and consistency to all of the parts of the ping golf club. Another type of patent for the Ping golf club is the Cushin Selective Filtering Insert. This is a patented invention which screens out and disperses the unwanted frequencies that can harmfully affect muscle, bone, and connective tissue. Through this invention, the golfer receives less vibration with greater feel on each shot.

The reason why the ping golf club is popular and widely used is because of its innovative, ever-changing yet reliable design. These designs are what people, particularly golfers, recognize about ping golf club. lost one of your ping golf clubs? Do not worry because serial numbers are here to save you! In every ping golf club, there are serial numbers which are etched on every PING iron. If ever there is a need to replace one club, the company has the exact specs at the time of manufacturing on file and could actually build a new club to match your set.

To learn more go to golf

Golf Snippets

top 50 tips13. Get Behind
There's no leverage in the golf swing if you're ahead of the ball. Good players move away from the target slightly in the backswing and don't pass the ball until after impact.
...Golf Tips magazine

I could ask ten players what starts the downswing, and I would get ten different answers. It has been said that golf is both an art and a science. "To know a thing by its parts is science: to feel it as a whole is art." It helps to understand the mechanics (Science) of a swing. It also helps to understand how to develop the feel (Art).
...Tom's golf tips

Find Your Swing Plane
You can swing on an upright or flat plane and be effective. This article will cover a more holistic view of playing golf and improving your game.

Golf Fitness:
- You'll never be a great golfer unless you keep you body and mind it shape. I know the truth hurts. But all the great players will devote a good portion of their schedule at the gym. Besides the obvious health benefits, you'll be able to enjoy the game long after you retire.

- Eat right. Stay away from high fat and sugar loaded foods. Don't have that doughnut and coffee in the morning. Have a glass of juice with some high fiber cereal. If you must have coffee, try to drink it black. The antioxidants and mild caffeine in coffee have been shown to be beneficial to your health. Avoid loading your coffee with creamers and sugar. Also avoid artificial sweeteners.

- Exercise regularly. Include a cardiovascular regimen to help you get around the course and it's great for your heart. Walking, jogging, biking, take your pick. Swimming is also a great way to improve your breathing and overall body fitness since it targets all your muscle groups. Add weight training to improve your power strokes.

- Exercise your mind. Crossword puzzles, reading golf magazines, and reading the newspaper with your black coffee are all excellent mental exercises. Mental fitness requires a daily regimen as well. Meditation, Tai Chi, spending time with family and friends all help reduce stress and will improve your game. Don't underestimate this important step.

Practice:
- You need to develop a practice routine that is consistent and regular. Just playing the game is not enough. Try out new techniques, new clubs or improve on existing techniques. Your brain will develop new pathways and muscle memory that will carry over into your game. A rule of thumb is to practice twice as much as you play.

- Take classes or sign up for a lesson or two with a more advanced player. You'll always learn something new and will level up your golf skills. Do this at least once per year. It takes dedication to become a better player and to improve year after year.

Etiquette
- Golf is a gentlemen's game. Become familiar with the rules of conduct and practice them in your head and on the course. Being a great player doesn't always mean having the lowest score. Being able to enjoy golf with other players, whether on your team or just on the course, is just as important as the game itself.

Article Source: http://www.bettergolfarticles.com

Robert Rogers is a writer in the Washington DC area. A similar concept also applies to the golf swing, which also usually requires a trigger move to get the body moving. Now, not everyone has a trigger, some manage to swing well from a static position to a dynamic position. But for the rest of us who often find confusion when it comes to where to start the golf swing, a trigger move can help you start swinging in a fluid and consistent manner.
...The Golf Channel

To learn how variations of the grip affect ball flight. Experiment with slight variations of your grip. Observe how the changes affect the flight of the ball. A weak grip encourages a slice or fade. A strong grip encourages a hook or a draw. This is the secret you've been searching for. The
Golf Swing Secret...get it today!

Tips To Play The Sand Trap

By Lee MacRae

A bunker beside the green is a fearsome place to be. Surprisingly, this is one of the easiest shots to perfect and can actually be an enjoyable part of your golf game. Just learn the proper techniques and apply a few tips and your bunker game will flourish.

Keep in mind that the average sand wedge is designed to hit a ball 40 feet at most. If you have a sand shot that is farther than that, then you will be better off using a pitching wedge to get on the green. A pitching wedge is designed differently, it doesn't have the curve [the bounce] on the bottom of the head. This allows the ball to travel the 10 or 20 extra feet you need on the shot. Just remember to use the right tool for the particular job at hand.

The longer bunker shot is one of the easiest shots to play and one of the most satisfying in the is entire game. Here are the six fundamentals of the bunker shot:

1. Choke down on the grip of the club to compensate for having to dig your feet into the sand to anchor your body.

2. Do not move the legs during a swing.

3. Take two or sometimes three extra clubs to make up for distance loss by the arms-and-hands-only swing. If you're within reach of the green, take as much club as you'll need for the ball to land near the hole. Because you're hitting down in to the back of the ball, the ball should have enough spin on it to stop quickly.

4. Play the ball in the middle of your stance so you can make contact before the bottom of your swing arc.

5. Always hit the ball first.

6. Don't ground your club. That's a two-stroke penalty.

One of the most awkward bunker shots calls for you to stand outside the bunker when your ball is inside it. This usually results in unpleasant bending and a loss of balance. The key here is not to bend the back and stretch out to the ball. Concentrat instead on bending the knees as much as possible. Think of weightlifters. You never see them bending over to pick up their weights. They bend their knees, grab the weights, then simply stand up. Their legs are doing the lifting. Your legs, too, should do the bending on these tough bunker shots.

And no matter what the circumstances are, don't allow tension to ruin your techinque. Tension will ruin even the best of golf swings. Keep your body and your mind loose and positive. Always imagine yourself handling the shot with success. What the mind sees, the body will do. You golf game will improve immensly when you add these tips.

Save money and improve your game with a great clone golf club today!

Some Quick Golf Information

Many swing faults occur from an improper setup. This can cause unnecessary adjustments during the swing. Taking care to position the ball, feet, hips and shoulders properly ensures building a good swing foundation. Testing has shown golfers with open stances show no more tendency to slice than golfers with closed stances. The open stance may give the golfers a little more opportunity to slice, because it allows a little more freedom in the downswing and follow-though. The square stance is used by most successful golfers. Beginners should start with a square stance. As you advance, you can experiment with the advantages of other stances. Avoid extreme stances. Experiment to find the stance that works best for you. Take care to set up consistently on all normal shots.
...PGA of America

To develop the best possible grip for you. Every golfer swings and grips the club differently. Over 90 percent of golfers use the Vardon or overlapping grip. Players with smaller hands sometimes find the interlocking grip, with the little finger of the right hand interlocked with the index finger of the left hand, works best for them. Players with smaller should use a baseball type grip.
...Golf Instruction Guide

Find Your Swing Plane
You can swing on an upright or flat plane and be effective. eBook

Golf Handicap Systems Help Even Out Scorecards For Competitive Golf Play

by George Gabriel

The golf handicap system is implemented at golf courses, for golf tournament play. Trophies and prizes are awarded at the end of golf tournaments, based on golf scores. In order to make the golf game fair play, the handicap system is based on the ten lowest differentials of the last twenty games on an eighteen-hole course in one season. Some golf associations will accept fewer golf games. It can also be used for fair play outside of golf tournaments. The following is a short guide on how the golf handicap system works.

Handicap numbers are recorded for golf players numbered one through thirty-six, the number one being the lowest handicap, and the number thirty-six being the highest handicap. A scratch golfer has no handicap, better known as a scratch player.

Now lets take a look at how these numbers come into affect. If a players handicap is ten, and another players handicap are twenty. The difference between the two players is ten golf strokes. Therefore, to even up the match, the player with the lower handicap, which this case is the ten-handicap golf player, has to give out ten golf strokes to his opponent on eighteen holes, to make the golf game fair play. How do you identify on which golf holes they are going to be given out?

Typically on most, if not all golf scorecards, you will find numbers 1 through 18 near the bottom of the scorecard beside Mens HCP and Ladies HCP. The numbers 1 through 18, you will also find out of order. The reason for the disorder of numbers is, the number 1 being the hardest golf hole, and the number 18 being the easiest golf hole. The golf course, or architect of the golf course, determines the order of numbers on any given golf hole, by the yardage and slope rating, and or other difficulty of the golf hole.

Now that we have determined how many golf strokes are to be given out, and where they are to be taken. The higher handicap in this case, which is the twenty handicap golf player, gets ten golf strokes for eighteen holes, on holes numbered 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9, and 10. This should make the match a lot closer, if both players are playing within their game. It typically works out to one golf stroke on every other golf hole in this example, depending on how the golf course is laid out. Another example would be a scratch player and a thirty-six-handicap player, the scratch player having to give out two golf strokes on every hole.

Keeping track of your handicap, and using a handicap system, will help make the game fair play in a lot of golf matches, when playing against other opponents.

Check with your local golf pro, or golf association, on an official guide for the golf handicap system, and for maintaining a legitimate handicap. If you belong to a golf course, they should have a system in place to use for tournament play, which is recognized by most golf courses and golf associations. You can also find golf handicap software on keeping track of a golf handicap.

Learned to play golf as a caddie.

Many swing faults occur from an improper setup. Instead, the arms must be thrown out and extended by a proper pivot.
...Golf Tips magazine

Snap It For More Power
The powerful tension built up in the backswing needs to be unleashed into the ball. Before the club finishes at the top, the body must begin moving toward impact with the arms and club lagging behind (the body should drag the arms and club, not vice versa).

Many golfers try to emulate Tiger Woods. In fact, Tiger's "two-pivot swing" is considered the modern swing to model your own after. Here is a Tiger tip:

In your backswing, your upper body will turn and while turning, you want to let your left shoulder move across and to the right so that your left shoulder is above your right foot at the top of your backswing. Begin your forward swing as you always do but attempt to finish with your right shoulder above your left foot (as if you are moving slightly ahead of the shot). By doing so, you will finish your swing in a more vertical position and look like Tiger!

If you do this just right, you'll be rewarded with longer distance on your shot.

Often the difference between a strong, powerful swing and a misguided hack is the tendency to hit, rather than stroke, the ball.

Remember that your golf eqiupment is not the whole story. Techinique plays a large part in how long and straight you drive the ball. Diligently practice using tips like these and your will see a great deal of improvement in your teee shots.

Save money and improve your game with a great clone golf club today!

More Thoughts On Golf

The Grain affects the roll! Grain is mostly seen on the fringe of the green. Putts with grain roll faster and farther, against the grain slower and not so far. Check from both sides of your ball as well as behind the ball when lining up. The appearance of the grass shows the grain. If it looks shiny the grain is away from you. If dull, the grain is towards you.
...World Golf

Free Turn
The lower body should serve to support the movement of the upper body by leading the backswing. Flexed and relaxed, the legs are able to be moved by the rotation of the upper body, in no way inhibiting the turn. While the legs don't initiate the backswing, they contribute to the wind up of the body against the ground. A good thought is to imagine the legs as braces that connect you to the ground.
...Golf Tips magazine

Golf truly is a great equalizer because it doesn't discriminate. Finally, the wonderful saying "What the mind conceives, the body can achieve" really drives home this point that the only limits we have in our lives are in our "minds".
...PGA

Two Backswing Flaws You Must Fix for a Spot-On Swing
Because golfers must stand to the side of the golf ball at address, it's easy to understand why many players improperly rotate both the body and golf club away from the ball during the takeaway. Often, this improper rotation assumes the form of an inside takeaway, where the hands and forearms roll clockwise and rotate the clubface open. As soon as the club is taken too far to the inside, it becomes trapped behind the bodyliterally.
...Golf Link

While all golfers continue to look for that secret that will perfect their swing,. it is wishful thinking that they will find it because their is no secret to swinging the golf club. Even with the best of players no two swings are alike. What works for one player doesn't necessarily work for another. There are no two swings alike - similar, but not alike.
...Tom's golf tips

More Golf News

Four Tours. This is one of the only golf training aids on the market that addresses the importance of your lower body in your golf swing.

The Impact Ball

This golf teaching tool will help you square the clubface during impact with the golf ball, as well as help you gain more distance on every shot. The Impact Ball fits between your arms as you swing the golf club. If you swing properly the Impact Ball will stay between your arms and not fall down. This is a very good golf training aid to own.

Medicus Dual Hinge Driver/Iron

The Medicus driver has been around for some time now, and with good reason. It works! When properly used, the Medicus dual hinge driver will help give you the perfect perfect golf swing. This golf training aid is one of simplicity. If you swing the club correctly, the hinge will not break. If you don't, the hinge will break, and you will know your golf swing is not on plane and in rhythm. This golf teaching tool will also eliminate a slicing problem in your game.

The Speed Stik

Endorsed by professional golfer Vijay Singh, the Speed Stik will help increase the power and speed of your golf swing. This golf training aid is a 25 oz golf shaft with a built in swing speed gauge to let you know your swing speed immediately.

The Truth About Impact
Looking at the two pictures below, there's no doubting the differences between the proper address and impact positions. But while the correct impact position is obviously extremely important, it's impossible to isolate this one moment of the swing through manipulation. Instead, you have to understand and apply the proper mechanics to create the correct look and feel at impact. Get it today!

Some Geat Golf Tips

by Lee MacRae

Here are some great tips to help improve your game from tee-off to the final hole.

Often the difference between a strong, powerful swing and a misguided hack is the tendency to hit, rather than stroke, the ball.

Keep the angle on your leading hand. Many amateurs tend to flip the hands forward in an effort to get the ball in the air, but this only retards the effort of having good equipment. The leading hand (left hand for most players, right hand for southpaws) should be angled down towards the ball on the downswing. It's like you are hitting the ball with the back of left hand. If your left hand is flipping up on the downswing, your contact will not be solid and you will get consistent misses with your wood. This tip also starts the ball low and lets its climb on its own through your generated power.

Remember that your golf eqiupment is not the whole story. Techinique plays a large part in how long and straight you drive the ball. Diligently practice using tips like these and your will see a great deal of improvement in your teee shots.

Improve your golf game with improved golf fitness before you hit the links again!

Golf Snippets

I cant tell you how many people come to my lesson tee and say, If I could just get rid of my baseball swing, then all my problems would be solved! My initial thought is always: I wish you had a baseball swing, because it would help you play better golf.
...The Golf Channel

Keep Your Hands Low
Limiting the height of the followthrough will effectively reduce the height of your shots. The lower the hands, the lower the ballflight. Moving the ball back in your stance or choosing a stronger club and trying to swing easy are other ways to accomplish the same thing, but they're less reliable and more difficult to execute. Instead, keep your hands low in the finish (compare the two photos at right), and the trajectory of your shots will be lower.
...Golf Tips magazine

Lean Left
It's critical to start and keep your weight toward your front foot during the entire motion of a bunker shot. This encourages the club to sustain its speed through impact, which in turn creates the wave of sand necessary to carry the ball in the air.
...Golf Tips magazine

Try for a relaxed and comfortable feel. A tight grip will hinder your rhythm and release. The V.s formed by the index finger and thumbs on both hands point between the chin and right shoulder.
...Golf Instruction Guide

Golf Related News

Woods resumes 'abnormal' service

Fri, 21 Mar 2008 00:00:01 +0000
<p>
First Tiger Woods commits that rarest of sins &ndash; a three-putt &ndash; and then
Florida is hit by rain after a day of sunshine. An unusual first round of
the WGC CA Championship in some respects, but the scoreboard has a
familiarly ominous ring about it. Woods is a couple behind and there remains
one overwhelming favourite. If only everything and every player could be so
  obliging.
</p>

Fisher aiming for European title

Tue, 01 Apr 2008 10:52:53 GMT
Chigwell golfer Oliver Fisher says he wants to build on his success at the Andaluca Open and win a European title before the end of the year.

The Ultimate Holiday Gift

Thu, 30 Nov 2006 00:00:00 GMT
FREE Personalization and FREE Titleist Ball Marker

Better Than Ever

Mon, 22 Jan 2007 00:00:00 GMT
Titleist Ambassador Charley Hoffman Captures Bob Hope Chrysler Classic

golf tournament gifts | golf equipment | golf balls

My Beginners Golf training Aids Reviews

Our Featured Golf Writer

Instantly slash your golf score by creating perfect impact!

Golf Swing Training The Right Way

by by Mike Pedersen

Golf swing training is a critical area in the improvement of any golfer's game. Yet not all golf swing training programs are the same. The truth of the matter is that there are some that are better and more effective than others.

In this article, I will examine the aspects that make for a good golf swing training program.

Before you even set foot on the course for a golf swing training session, it is important that you prepare your body physically and especially the muscles in your body that you will need to use in your golf swing.

A good golf swing exercise training program must include stretch exercises. Golf-specific stretch exercises are very powerful and extremely effective in improving the golf swing.

The amazing fact is that you do not need to be in the gym or away from your work station to carry out golf swing stretch training exercises. There are many stretch exercises that can be carried out in a spare moment in your office, throughout the day.

A good golf swing training exercise program will also involve weight training using dumbbells. The idea here is not to build bigger muscles but to strengthen your golf swing muscles.

Golf exercise experts will be able to give you the dumbbell exercises that will build your strength without giving you bulging muscles. This is one of the reasons why these exercise programs using dumbbells have been embraced by lady golfers and even very young junior teenage golfers.

Your golf swing exercise training program can move to the course where you can make full use of golf exercise products like the weighted club. Here you will be further enhancing and conditioning your golf muscles even as you practice the correct technique golf swing.

By the time your golf swing training program reaches the course and hitting actual golf balls, you will tend to find that your drives will be longer and you will also be more confident with yourself.

The right golf swing training can make a huge difference in your golf game.

Mike Pedersen is one of the top golf fitness experts in the country, author of the Ultimate Golf Fitness Guide, and founder of several cutting-edge online golf fitness sites. Take a look at his just released golf fitness dvds at his golf fitness site - Perform Better Golf.

Golf Snippets

Buy Some Long Tees
Your new driver will be easier to hit.
...Golf Tips magazine

Positioning of the Hands
As with any stroke, the path of the ball will be dictated by the positioning of the hands and feet, so these should be adjusted in order to send the ball right with the correct amount of spin to curve it round. The clubface should remain square on to the ball but the feet and shoulders should be aligned to the right. This will result in the clubface swinging on an inside to outside path and placing the correct spin of the ball so that it curves rather than travels in a straight line.
...mastering golf UK

Putting
Ben Crenshaw is one of the world's finest. He holds the putter so lightly he sometimes drops it - but this is how he achieves the 'touch' behind a smooth rhythm.
...BBC golf

Headline News About Golf
A Fitting Achievement.

Tue, 27 Sep 2005 00:00:00 GMT
Gamez Captures Valero Texas Open Trusting Titleist from Tee-to-Green.

Titleist Tour Report: EDS Byron Nelson Championship

Fri, 12 May 2006 00:00:00 GMT
Check out this week's Titleist Tour Report, featuring PGA TOUR rookie Camilo Villegas.

Titleist Tour Report-Bay Hill Invitational

Fri, 17 Mar 2006 00:00:00 GMT
Watch this week's Titleist Tour Report direct from the Bay Hill Invitational featuring Jason Bohn.

http://www.golf-training-aid-online.com/Golf%20Putting%20Aids/The_Putting_Connection.html
Tags: discount golf | discount golf equipment
